My World

The Color Factory NYC - Highly recommended

A New Orleans based artist painted this beautiful 30 x 30 of me! Her work has a lot of personality & depth & I am so honored to be a subject of hers! Check her out on instagram @dreamcarrrz

For NYFW I hand painted an old colleague's handbags for a PR event at the House Of showroom in New York. The MEOW bag landed itself Teen Vogue on @cinnamonryan! Check out @alfeyavalrina on instagram. Her handbags are made in Indonesia by local artisans & are so cute and well constructed. This job was really rewarding because I spent hours on end painting - high quality handbags - while learning a lot about he PR process and meeting influencers from around NYC.

me @ The MET
Taking art history courses has forced me to find myself in museums around the city. The Met, & The Brooklyn Museum have been two of my favorite stops, both donation based so it wont cost you much! The Brooklyn Museum is modern and very quirky. Lots of neon lights and thought provoking displays in the lobby. It also has a feminist art wing that really speaks volumes and inspired a lot of my work since seeing it.  The MET is more historical but filled with absolute gold. It's also huge, so I personally still have a lot to view.

HoboLux is a new brand that I screen printed some merch for. The Designer Maddie Munson (@maddiemunson) is having a fashion show tomorrow, March 13. This is my first project using a digital design, which helped me learn a new and easier process.

I do... a lot of walking. A new opportunity has me walking about an hour to & from and is really allowing me to appreciate the architecture of New York. These pictures can give you an idea, but there's such a rush the atmosphere & lighting offers you when you're in it. UGH I'm so alive.

My thesis! Shoe construction has a millions steps, but I really enjoy going through the process. After designing & making patterns, you MUST make a mock up or 2. Errors are found/ experimented here and materials are expensive and sometimes are no longer available so its important to strategize while making deliberate decisions. After the patterns are cut into materials, it's time to sew, decorate, and prep the shoes for outsole construction. I'm at a good spot, but I still have a tone of work to do. These will be high heel roller skates :D I'm going for a soft grunge, edgy Chanel,  tough but soft aethetic. I may do one pair of skates, and one pair of blades, and considering making a leg harness with a tiny bag attached to it.  I'm so excited, you seriously have no idea.

Finally, some art! Mixed media, mouth studies, experiments, feeling good!
